Trans World Internet eXchange is a global technology company with offices in the USA, Europe, and China. The core business focus is to provide companies with high-speed communications alternatives while surpassing the performance of traditional VPN products and leased lines. The flagship product of the company is called Sonic Transit. Sonic Transit is a proprietary routing technology that overcomes the obstacles that VPN engineers encounter on today’s Internet mesh.
In addition to high-speed communications alternatives, the company provides Internet backbone engineering and management, data center co-location, and consulting services to firms wanting to consolidate their data center infrastructure.
Founded in 2004’, the company has flourished internationally and grew from just 3 peering locations in two countries to 17 peering locations in 16 different countries. By 2008, the company will be expanding it’s backbone to 40 peering locations in 34 different countries.
Trans World Internet eXchange operates four world class data center co-location facilities located in Washington DC, London, Hong Kong, and Singapore. These facilities provide geographic fault tolerance for the entire Trans World Internet eXchange backbone.
Tim Kersnick – Founder and CEO
Tim has over 22 years of experience working professionally with technology. Early in his career he worked for Bayer Corporation where he won the President's Achievement award 2 years in a row for artificial intelligence programming work. He received and holds 2 U.S. patents for his work that are currently licensed to the automotive industry. On May 4th, 2000, he was the first to publish a fix to the Love Bug computer virus and assisted the FBI with tracking down the creator of the virus. In 2001, Tim started his own consulting company specializing in networking and network security. In 2004 Tim founded Trans World Internet eXchange.
Dave Blake – COO
Dave is an Internet and Telecommunications veteran with nearly 20 years in the business. Dave has been involved with Internet technology since 1992 and has experienced its explosive growth first hand. He was part of the R&D team at PSINet that developed many first in the industry, including the initial use of ISDN, SMDS, and CATV for Internet communications. Dave has held senior positions at various companies including Level 3 Communications, AOL, PSINet, Worldcom, and UUComm.
